Which payments might you be able to get?
Answer a few questions and we will list the Australian government payments that are worth looking into — with the reason each one came up. This is a starting point, not an answer: nothing here decides whether you qualify, and we do not show dollar amounts, because the income and assets free areas behind them are figures we cannot re-check from our network.

Rules taken from the Department of Social Services Social Security Guide and the pages linked in each result. Checked 12 October 2026. General information only — Services Australia assesses eligibility, not this page.
What actually decides the amount
Every payment in that list is income tested, and most are assets tested. Both tests work off a free area — the amount you can have before the payment starts reducing. The free areas are indexed on 1 July each year, and Services Australia publishes them. We do not copy the figures onto this site, because we cannot re-check them from our network — so here are the official pages instead.
Age Pension
- Income test — the fortnightly free area and the 50 cent taper
- Assets test — homeowner and non-homeowner thresholds
- Age Pension overview — including the age for your birth year
JobSeeker, Youth Allowance and the rest
- Income and assets tests for JobSeeker
- Guide to Australian Government Payments — every rate and free area in one document
Two practical things the free areas do not tell you: Rent Assistance is only paid with another payment, and taking Parental Leave Pay cancels the Newborn Supplement for the same child. The order you claim in matters.
How to use this properly
- Treat the list as a shortlist, not a decision. Every payment here has an income test and most have an assets test. The free areas behind those tests are published by Services Australia and are not reproduced here — see how we check numbers for why.
- Payments are meant to be held together. Rent Assistance is only paid with another payment. Taking Parental Leave Pay cancels the Newborn Supplement. Parenting Payment and Family Tax Benefit interact. The order you claim in matters.
- Some things we cannot assess at all. The Disability Support Pension turns on a medical assessment, and Carer Payment has care requirements that are not a matter of arithmetic. Both are listed here only if you told us they might apply.
- Then confirm it with the agency. Services Australia has a payment finder and a phone line, and it decides. If you think you were refused wrongly, there is a review process.
