Terms of use

Plain English, because the important part is not the legal phrasing: these are calculators built from published rates, not advice about your situation — and the tables are free to reuse with a link.

What the calculators do

Each calculator applies the rates and thresholds published by the ATO, Services Australia, the Department of Social Services or a state or territory revenue office, and shows the arithmetic so you can follow it. Every page names its source and prints the date the figures were last read.

That makes them a faithful application of a published rule. It does not make them an assessment of you: they do not know your residency status, your partner's income, your deductions, your ownership structure or anything else a real assessment turns on.

What they are not

  • Not tax, financial, legal or migration advice. We are not registered tax agents and we are not affiliated with any government agency.
  • Not a substitute for an assessment. Centrelink payments are assessed by Services Australia, tax by the ATO, duty and land tax by the relevant revenue office. Those assessments are the authoritative answer, not this site.
  • Not complete. Where a payment has a condition we could not verify from an official page, the page says so rather than filling the gap with a plausible number.

Accuracy and currency

Australian rates change on fixed dates — most tax and super figures on 1 July, pensions and allowances on 20 March and 20 September, student payments on 1 January, and each state's land tax and payroll tax on its own schedule. A figure can be correct on the day it was checked and out of date the next month.

If you find an error, tell us through the contact page. We check the claim against the official source and correct the page when the source supports it; the rates changelog records what applies from when.

Reusing the tables

You are welcome to quote the tables, with a link back to the page you took them from — the cite our data page exists for exactly that, and includes the attribution line to paste. If you would rather run the calculator on your own site, embed it; that is free and needs no permission.

What we ask you not to do is copy the calculators themselves and republish them as your own product, or present the data as your own compilation without the link. That is not a restriction on the numbers — published rates are public — it is a request not to pass off the work of assembling and checking them.

External links

We link to official sources so a reader can check any figure themselves. Those sites are not under our control, and their terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Liability

This site is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, Aussie Calculators is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a figure or calculation on this site — including a figure that was correct when checked and has since changed. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them.
