Why these calculators

Official rates, dated

Every figure comes from the ATO, Services Australia or the relevant state revenue office — and we show the date we last checked it. In Australia most of these numbers change on 1 July, so a stale calculator can quietly cost you money.

Built for the marginal system

From 2025–26 the ATO calculates study loan repayments using marginal rates. Many older calculators still apply a single rate to your whole income, which overstates what you owe. Ours does not.
